Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
My ministry at Emmanuel Lutheran began as the pandemic began to ease, and many of us wondered what church would look when we returned from the covid years, and I’m happy to say that we have managed to return to many cherished traditions in our Sunday worship, but have also added devotional services during Lent and Advent, and a weekly lectionary Bible study.
The array of boxes under the coatracks speak to the vitality of our giving to local causes, including a new relationship with Bridge Pointe Commons, a 62-person facility in Elyria for residents who are disabled or have experienced homelessness.
‘Emmanuel’ is shorthand for ‘Christ is with us.’ Through the years without a called pastor, Christ was indeed with this church. The people of Emmanuel lived out their calling as ministers to one another and richly deserve the first line of credit in our bulletins each week. You have truly been ministers to one another.
I am happy to be called to minister with you, as we work together to grow in faith, to serve one another and our communities, and allow the Spirit to lead us into this next phase of the life of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Tim Scholl
